Cool Mic: Help: Utilities

The "Utilities" screen allows a few extra options for configuring Cool Mic.

Entries are explained as follows:

• Use Cool Mic Test Server: CMTS has been disabled/discontinued due to abuse. We apologize for the inconvenience. Future versions of Cool Mic will have this option removed.


• QR Code Scan: Tap this to use your device's camera to scan a Cool Mic livestream QR code. This will automatically configure Cool Mic to use the server and configuration embedded in the code. Use the following format for your URL:
  
  http(s)://sourceuser:sourcepassword@icecasthost:icecastport/mountpoint.format
  
  To generate a QR code for your stream, you can use qrencode to generate a .PNG image with the following syntax:
  
  'qrencode -t ansiutf8 -r [file.png]'.
  
  There are also web qr code generators available.


• Permission Check: Tap this to check Cool Mic's permissions for Android. This can be used if you think Android has somehow revoked certain permissions Cool Mic requires to operate correctly.
